Privacy Policy

Mesa is a recipe app made by Swire Studio (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information Mesa handles and how. The short version: Mesa is built to keep your data on your device, we don't sell anything about you, and we don't run ads.

What Mesa stores on your device

Mesa does not require an account. Your recipes, cook history, prep progress, notes, and preferences are stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it. We cannot see or recover it.

What happens when you import a recipe

When you import a recipe by URL, the link you provide is sent to our server, which fetches the public webpage and uses an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) to extract the recipe content — the title, ingredients, and steps. The processed recipe is returned to your device and stored locally. Recipe images may be stored on our servers so they load reliably in the app.

We do not use your imported recipes to build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share this information with third parties for marketing.

Affiliate links

Mesa recommends kitchen tools through Amazon affiliate links. If you tap one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links open in your browser — Amazon's own privacy policy applies once you're there. Affiliate revenue is how Mesa stays free and ad-free.

Website and waitlist

If you join the Mesa waitlist or newsletter on our website, your email address is collected and managed through Beehiiv, our newsletter provider, and used only to send you the updates you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal information.
• We don't show ads or share data with advertisers.
• We don't require an account or collect your name, contacts, or location.

Service providers

Mesa relies on a small number of service providers to operate: Supabase (server infrastructure and image storage), Anthropic (AI recipe parsing), Amazon Associates (affiliate links), and Beehiiv (newsletter, website only). Each processes only what's needed to provide their function.

Children

Mesa is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and note the change on this page.
